Legaré's Select line is made of engineered composite wood with solid-wood surface veneers. Engineered wood, manmade from small wood pieces and adhesives, has several environmental advantages: large panels of wood can be made from small-diameter trees; the use of wood scraps and wood with defects reduces waste; and engineered products are often stronger and less prone to warping from humidity than solid timber. Plus, all the wood Legaré uses is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

This 24-inch-by-53-inch media stand features a genuine ash veneer with a deep Espresso finish and makes a sleek presentation standing on its own or connected to one or two matching media towers. On top, the stand accommodates a flat screen or projection TV up to 55 inches wide, while four roomy bays house AV components below. The outer shelves can hold small speakers or more than 120 DVDs or 170 CDs. For easy-access cable management, the rear corner of each shelf has concealed pass-throughs and the back panel has an open center. It assembles out of the box in less than 1 minute with no tools, no hardware and no headache! Check out this video where Brock Brandenberg (Legare's designer) assembles the Legare Media Stand in less than 37 seconds! ... utterly amazing!!! All panels are finished on both sides, so you can flip the top or shelf to double the life of the product for years and years of use. Sturdy interlocking tab & slot assembly is based on a patented "forcing function" concept whereby each step in the assembly locks the preceding step in place ... it will literally hold hundreds of pounds of weight ... a rock solid design with tons of user friendly features like adjustable shelving, asymmetric reversibility, cable managment, modularity, portability, and the list goes on and on. This product is one of the finest values on Amazon.com!

I love this entertainment center. We were looking for stand that would fit the new large TV we got for Christmas this year, and I stumbled upon Legare furniture here at Amazon. Its very modern looking and open, with a rich dark finish on it which looks fantastic with our black bezel 42" plamsa. The wood used in it is sustainably grown so you aren't contributing to forest destruction, but it is also very smartly designed. I put it together myself in under a half an hour following just one page of instructions and despite being tool-less and screw-less it is very solid once it snaps into place. There are lots of well thought out little holes which make hiding all the cables very easy and there is plenty of space for electronics in it. I've had it for just a couple of days now, but I'm extremely happy with it, and since it's not as heavy as many stands, it was two-day shipped for only 15 bucks. I can't say enough good things about this product, and I can't find anything wrong with it. I might buy one of their desks now too. Wow!
