The ES-201 simulates the full spectrum and brightness of sunlight and is glare-free. | Simulates Sunlight for Comfortable Lighting The ES-201 is a compact-fluorescent desk lamp that simulates the brightness of sunlight--which is balanced across the entire spectrum of color visible to the human eye--for clear, bright, and comfortable lighting that's easy on your eyes. It also helps reduce eye strain, provides better contrast and more vivid colors, and creates sharp visibility for more detail. And it's even glare free, making the ES-201 ideal for computer use.Uses Less Energy to Save Money and Protect the Environment To help save energy and potentially reduce your electricity bill, the ES-201 includes a plug-in 27-watt four-pin compact-fluorescent bulb with 10,000-hour bulb life. That means it lasts up to 10 times longer than standard incandescent bulbs, yet uses two-thirds less energy than an equivalent 100-watt incandescent bulb. For added convenience, this bulb uses an electronic ballast, so it won't hum or flicker, and it is a safe and cool alternative to incandescent and halogen bulbs. The ES-201 is also Energy Star and Earth Smart certified, which means it uses less energy than non-certified products and can help save money and protect the environment. In fact, by purchasing products like this energy efficient lamp, families can save about a third on their energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions--all without sacrificing performance, style, or comfort. Adjustable Design The ES-201 measures 26 inches in height--18 inches when positioned horizontally--with a seven-inch durable plastic base, so it won't crowd your desk, workbench, or shop. To help ensure that the light goes exactly where you need it, this lamp features an adjustable and flexible 9.5-inch gooseneck arm. Operation is simple: to turn on the ES-201, just flip the on/off switch conveniently located directly on the 10-inch shade. | I am a bookworm, and I bought this lamp to provide the proper light for reading. The light is in the spectrum that mimics natural sunlight, so it minimizes eye strain. It is meant to be a table lamp-- the light doesn't cast very far. It's perfect for setting on a nightstand; the neck swivels so that you can direct the light right to what you're reading. The base is fairly large, which provides good stability, but you should be prepared to clear a space for it to sit on. Mine fits on a fairly small nightstand and there's still room for books, alarm clock, etc. The switch to turn it on or off is located at the top of the lamp, which is a bit awkward when you're trying to reach it from bed, but that really is the only thing I'd change about it. I've been using mine nightly for four months, and so far it's still going strong. My eyes no longer get as tired as they did from reading with a regular bedside lamp. |

| I had this lamp since 2009 and I absolutely love it. I use it almost every night. This light is very bright which is exactly what I was looking for when I needed to get serious during study time without falling asleep., but after reading the negative reviews I'm even afraid to order a second one even after absolutely loving my lamp I don't know how I ever studied without this lamp ohh yeah I used to study in the kitchen table . I will look around just for sakes but I am 99% sure I will buy me a second one hope is not a manufacture defective issue with that the newer models. |

| I received this lamp about a month or so ago and have been very pleased with it. It provides more then enough desk light for my computer without all the heat I was getting from my Halogen lamp. |

| This lamp was perfect for where I was using it----until it stopped working. It won't stay on. After a few minutes it stops working and I have to fiddle with the bulb to get it to light up again---for a little while. The bulb seems to fit tight and does not flicker when it is lit. I am not sure exactly what the problem is. I just know it does not work and I did not abuse it or, for that matter, even use it very much. I would not recommend this lamp to anyone. AVOID |

| This lamp is absolutely horrendous. Don't waste your time with this product. First, this lamp flickers. I've learned to deal with the flickering by turning it on and off a few times before it no longer flickers. After a few weeks of using this product, I heard a loud pop right before the lamp no longer worked and assumed it was the light bulb. After buying a replacement bulb, the lamp still didn't work. The product has a 2-year warranty, so I called the company and they immediately knew what was wrong with it. They sent me a replacement part and a very simplistic diagram on how to fix it. Unfortunately, I am unable to remove the old part to replace it with the new part (and I am an Electrical Engineering major). I called the company again to ask how to remove the old part and the tech (a guy with a thick accent) told me to go out and buy my own wire connectors. This isn't warranty if I have to spend money to fix it. Long story short, this product is crap so don't waste your time. It will break down on you guaranteed. This has happened to many other people (that is why they knew what was wrong with the product when I called without even describing it). |

| My husband thinks this is too bright so he turns it to reflect off the wall and it makes a very soothing light in the room. I like the intense light for reading and it is wonderful. It's also my "happy lamp" as it imitates natural sunlight. I would buy it over and over again if I had more offices. |

After a lot of research about reading lamps, i finally bought this through amazon. It arrived in 4 days and was nicely packed. It came with a warranty paper and instructions to assemble it. It was very easy to fix and though first time after fixing when i tried to adjust its neck it creaked a little, but later i could adjust its height easily. The spectrum of light was good, the light was soft, the bulb did not heat too much (though they did heat up).
I found it ideal for reading, sewing, knitting, art work. The base is very stable, does not tend to fall, (given that the height of neck including the head is considerable). I can not comment about the durability yet but it sure looks like its going to last long.Grandrich ES-201 EZ Reader Table Lamp w/ 27w Fluorescent Bulb |

I ordered the lamp and it arrived yesterday. It did or will not work. It blew out the Mercury Light Bulb. This morning I threw it in the garbage. Not worth even sending this piece of junk back or doing further business with Amazon if they promote such crap.

| I was really disappointed in this lamp. I turned it on and it lasted for all of about 5 minutes before flickering off, never to turn on again. The light while it was on was very similar to fluorescent office light. I was really not impressed. Save your time and energy and stay away. |
