Product Description

Architec is hopping on the green bandwagon by implementing eco-friendly elements in both its manufacturing process and end products. One of their new lines consists of products made from bamboo. A quick-growing grass, bamboo is renewable and tree-saving, with many of the same attributes as wood. The Gripper cutting board, for example, made of laminated strips of bamboo, is strong and durable, won't absorb moisture, and won't harm knives. The glue used in the lamination process is food-safe. Soft rubber pads, securely anchored beneath each corner without glue, grip the 11-by-14-inch board to the counter to prevent slipping during use. After use, simply wash The Gripper by hand.

Look for other sizes of Architec bamboo cutting boards, as well as innovative cork cutting boards. Removal of cork bark doesn't hurt the tree, which keeps growing and producing more bark. All good news for the planet. --Ann Bieri

dishwasher safe, compact, and does not slide around on the counter top. Exactly what I have been looking for.
good price, not a great primary cutting board

This is a nice cutting board for the price. However, I wouldn't use it as my primary cutting board (there are better options for that).

PROS:
Gripper feet are very nice.
Very affordable.
Light.

CONS:
Too thin, prone to warping.
Perhaps quality control isn't real good.
How it holds up remains to be seen.

The one I received is actually warped a bit and it doesn't sit stable on the counter (it wobbles). However, since I bought it for a specific task I am not completely disappointing. I won't bother returning it since getting one that doesn't wobble is probably like rolling the dice.

I own a bunch of cutting boards (many of them are bamboo, it is my favorite) and if you are looking for just one cutting board or a new primary board then go for an end grain board instead. If you are looking for a cheap second board to do a specific task, this one is pretty nice, it has a nice price tag, and allows you to stick with bamboo.

I'd never had a bamboo cutting board before. I do love it. And it is aesthetically pleasing, which makes me even happier. I rubbed it with coconut oil...seems to be completely free of any staining so far. I like having it out on the counter....
I liked the look and bought on the reviews.

Something not mentioned about the gripper feet is that they are not simply rubber plugs placed in the corners as I had imagined. They are substantial triangular pads with multiple plugs on each. A superior design for sure.
Just enough height to get a hold of it when you need to.
For me the ideal size and weight, a pleasure use and to look at.

This is my first bamboo cutting board and I like it just fine. The price was very reasonable and I love the grippers on the bottom.
Beautiful, functional, sturdy, inexpensive. What more do you need?

Love love love this cutting board. Hard rubber gripper feet are secured within the wood, NOT glued on, so they'll never come off. I have the smaller version of this board as well. Just be sure to oil it plenty when you first get it, and once a week for a month, and then once a month after that. Plain mineral oil from the drugstore is fine - it's the same as the "bamboo" oil that's much more expensive.
Great inexpensive board for the kitchen

Having owned several bamboo cutting boards, I decided to purchase two of these for my mother, who has been using the same cutting board set for almost a decade for christmas. The main purpose was because bamboo cutting boards are much more hygienic, more environmentally friendly (bamboo grows quickly and is a very renewable source), and that it's pretty tough.
The boards do come a little fuzzy at first, but after a bit of use and washing, they become very strong. As is with most lower end boards, cut marks do become visible, but those will eventually wear away as the outer finish of the board grows more weathered. This is nothing bad.
The best selling point about these boards are the rubber feet. While they do take away an entire side of a board to use for cooking, they provide a vital role in keeping the board still while you're dicing (these boards are light and would probably slide around otherwise without the feet; I've had bad experience with other boards sliding around) and also helps air the board while it dries, keeping the bamboo off the ground and letting the water soak in and promote bacterial growth.

My only qualms about this board are the lightness of the bamboo. My own boards are very dark in color, giving them a very rich quality. These boards are VERY light in color, so if you really like matching your cookware, make sure that you have a brighter kitchen, or you may begin thinking these are a bit of an eye-sore.

I love these gripper bamboo cutting boards and have a couple of them. I would caution that they become slightly discolored if not wiped after every use. The smaller version is a much better deal.

These cutting boards are attractive and a good size. I haven't actually used them yet for cutting so I cannot testify to their durability. The price was right and am so far satisfied with the purchase.
Wow, this looks great and works well

Rarely do you see design and beauty come together in the kitchen: you get one or the other, but not both. This Architec Bamboo board is the perfect size, not too small, not too big. The grips hold it steady even with heavy cleaver work, and it looks great. Easier to clean than I expected, so that, too, is a plus.
